Don’t know about you, but when it comes to most of us landing on a bad website we are pretty quick to click the close button or hit the back arrow to Google to search for a different business.
And in the competitive business world we live in, this can really impact your business negatively.
So let’s take a look at why users leave a website.
Number 1 would be: It simply does not meet their expectations
These client expectations would be different for every industry, but l will throw it out there and say it’s safe to say that in the Salon and Spa industry that a modern DESIGN would be pretty key to keeping a client on the website.
After all, it is a very visual industry and FASHION is constantly changing.
Last years styles are well, last years…
So if you have a dated looking website, would that give the impression that your business is perhaps a bit outdated as well.
So having a clean, fresh design will go along way to keeping positive user engagement on your website.
Number 2: Make it clear what you do
There is nothing more frustrating for potential clients then going to a website and you have to guess what their core services are. Your website should really give them an instant snapshot as to your area of expertise.
People just will not work these days to get the information, it is simply too easy to search for another business that easily conveys these details.
So clean and simple is a great approach when designing your next website but also make sure it is crystal clear what you do.
Just imagine you as the client, what would you want to see and read instantly upon visiting your website.
Number 3: Contact Information
Now sure you may have a contact tab, but so many people may just want to get your phone number so this should also be easily seen. We suggest having it in the menu bar at the top of the website. That way a client does not have to click anywhere and if they want they can simply call to find out the information they want.
After all, some people would rather speak with a person then search your website for details about your business, so make sure to cater for them with this.
Number 4: Credibility Indicators
This is where you get a chance to separate yourself from competitors. How? Well if you have won awards for your business, display them on the home page.
Such as: 2015 Award Winning Salon
Turn it into a nice icon.
Credibility indicators are designed to create a sense of confidence in your service.
So what else can you use:
- Logos of products you use
- Celebrity Endorsements
- Guarantee symbols.
The key with this is to make sure they fit in seamlessly to your design, you don’t want them looking tacky as that can negatively impact the overall look and feel of your website.
Number 5: Responsive Design
This deserves a post in and of itself, but if your website is not responsive, you are massively damaging your business. To find out more about responsive designs click here: Responsive design
